Rake                                     Mountain path, often steep and diagonal across the fell breast

Ratch / Ratching                 Rummaging or seeking. It’s Old Norse origins were more toward ‘ransacking’

Reek / Reekin’                     Smoke / Smoking (as in fire, not generally in connection with cigarettes)

Reet                                      Right (e.g. 1 “Reet thoo is”-Right you are. 2 “Ower tu’t reet”-Over to the right)

Rive                                      To tear or rip

Ruttle                                    Rattley breathing, like someone with asthma
